Every year more than 3 million reports of child abuse are made in the United States alone involving more than 6 million children (a report can include multiple children). The United States has one of the worst records among industrialized nations – losing on average between four and seven children every day to child abuse and neglect.

I have always said that codependency recovery is about management and not cure. Being a behavioural issue means that setbacks can easily happen. There is no linear line available from A to Z. Getting Away From The Apps and Meeting People in “Real Life”

That's the problem with dating apps: you see some great photos and pretend to yourself that they can genuinely have a conversation that isn't about them. If this profile had approached this lady in the typical manner, weeks of texting would not have been wasted. There would have been a quick dialogue and then it would have been over. I see this every day in practice, frustration at meeting the next "loser" and the feeling that it will never work.

Can We Heal From Trauma?

Trauma occurs when a loved one dies unexpectedly, when a child is assaulted, or when caregivers violate boundaries. It can occur as a result of an accident or as a result of being beaten for being the wrong colour, religion, or sexual orientation. It occurs during a rape. It does not only occur in the presence of "evil" strangers or natural disasters; it also occurs within families and in the name of love. Having stated that, what is trauma?
